Structure

Four irregular pieces of light brushwood on the field surface (L 1.3m; Wth 1.2m; D 0.1m). A single worked end is evident. Alder, ash and hazel are the species identified and the wood is poorly preserved. The material is present within poorly humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
