Structure

An irregular spread of three pieces of brushwood and a roundwood on the field surface (L 1.1m min.; Wth 0.8m; D 0.13m). One piece bares a toolmark. The wood has been identified as alder and hazel. The site is present in poorly humified Sphagnum and Eriophorum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
