Structure

A concentration of ten pieces of brushwood (Wth 0.44m; D 0.06m), up to two pieces deep, orientated N-S on the field surface. Some stray pieces of brushwood were noted close to the site. Wood species include willow, alder and ash. The material is set within poorly humified Sphagnum peat with some ericaceous root. This material is situated 3m SW of SMR OF015-414----, a hurdle, and both sites may be related. SMR OF015-325----, SMR OF015-430----, SMR OF015-346----, SMR OF015-365----, SMR OF015-446---- and SMR OF015-447---- are also in the vicinity of this site. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1997. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
