Structure

Two pieces of mixed brushwood and three light roundwoods (Wth 0.48m; D 0.19m) in the drain face. The pieces are orientated N-S and are closely deposited but a coherent structure is not evident. Most pieces bear metal-cut toolmarks. Wood species include birch and willow. The site lies in well-humified woody, Sphagnum peat. It is located c. 0.2m beneath OF-BLY 0010. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
