Foulksrath Castle in County Kilkenny holds a small disroofed chamber beside the stable archway that local story claims belonged to St. Bride, though the chamber may have served the gateway itself. The archway predates the present bawn, and its hanging eyes still suggest a gate closed from outside. Much of the old manor-house has faded into stable and garden walls, leaving only fragments for imagination to complete.

In describing Foulksrath Castle (KK010-056001-), Wright (1885-6, 436) states that, 'There are also considerable remains of a large building, now forming part of the stable and garden walls, which a hundred years ago were much more perfect, and which my father used to say were then evidently the ruins of a large manor-house or court. On the side of the archway, which now leads to the stables out of the bawn [KK010-056007-], is a small disroofed chamber, which tradition said was a chapel of St. Bride'. This is also mentioned by Gibb (1948, 53) who describes it as, 'on the left-hand side just outside the archway leading from the bawn to the stables is the small cell or chamber said by tradition to be that of St. Bride'. This appears to refer to a feature immediately N of and adjoining the gateway in the N wall of the bawn. The gateway itself appears to predate the present bawn (KK010-056007-) as the hanging-eyes are positioned so that the gate is closed from outside the bawn wall.
