Architectural fragment in St. Patricksrock

At the rear of O'Brien's hostel, which is a converted outbuilding, on Mountjudkin Road, c. 200m NE of Hore Abbey (TS061-024001-), two buttress have been constructed using salvaged stone. The ground level is c. 1m lower adjacent to the outbuilding than the rest of the yard. A limestone jamb (L 0.63m; Wth 0.24; D 0.2m) with a chamfered edge (Wth 0.08m; H 0.63m), has been built into the most westerly buttress. It lies horiztally 1.4m above the lower ground level. The chamfer has drafted margins with punch dressihg in between. The former inner edge of the jamb has four depressions cut into it, two smaller square central depressions (Dims. 0.025m; D 0.025m) and larger rectangular depressions at either end (Dims. 0.1m x 0.05m; D 0.04m), though the eastmost depression is partially broken off.
