What is recorded here

Lisheenclogh is an oval fairy fort on a Galway pasture rise, its twin banks and central ditch still marking the boundary between human fields and hidden life. The structure measures thirty-eight and a half metres across, large enough to swallow a village hall or a hundred dancing shadows. Modern quarrying has bitten into the north-west edge, yet the inner wall remains unbroken, suggesting the site resists erasure even when human tools attack it. Children may have buried their dead nearby, trusting the fort to guard what ordinary ground cannot hold.

On a rise in pastureland. Oval rath (38.5m E-W; 30m N-S), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is visible all round. The fosse is present from NE through S to NW, while the outer bank survives from ENE to SE and from WNW to NW. Several breaches in the banks appear to be modern.
