Lios is a fairy fort in County Cork, an earthen ring where the boundary between human law and fantasy thins. People may have lived inside its bank during the Iron Age or early Middle Ages, tending fires and defending land, while later traditions reimaged the same circle as a doorway for fairy children. The fort still belongs to both histories at once: human hands shaped it, but imagination has kept it alive.

In forestry. Depicted as hachured penannular depression (diam. c. 20m), open to SE, on 1936 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace.
