Earthwork in Ryves Castle is a circular ridge about ten metres across on demesne pasture east of the castle. Maps from 1840 and 1897 called it planted trees rather than an ancient monument, suggesting the ridge may have been shaped or reused as a landscape feature after 1700. It still stands in grass, neither fully hidden nor fully explained, like a garden room abandoned by its makers.

In pasture, on the demesne lands associated with Ryves Casle (LI041-021----), located 460m to E. A possible tree-ring (LI041-018----) lies 130m to SE. Depicted as a tree-pantation on 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as an area of planted trees. Monument visible as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork (diam. c. 10m) on Google Earth orthoimages. Not depicted as an antiquity on any ed. OSi historic maps. Possible earthwork reused as a landscape feature of post-1700 date on the demesne lands of Ryves Castle.
