Rosses Lower held two forgotten graveyards, including Lisheen na Paiste, before people stopped laying the dead to rest there. O'Rorke wrote them down in 1890, but the fields have since lost their markers and exact shape. They may still lie beneath grass, road cuttings or new housing, waiting for someone to remember which soil belongs to the dead.

This record refers to one of two ‘now disused, burying grounds in the Lower Rosses –one, called Lisheen na Paiste [SL008-166----], and another [SL008-167----] to the west of the Lisheen, …’ which were noted in the late 1800's by O'Rorke (1890, vol. 1, 484).
