Bingham Island

Bingham Island is a tiny natural islet in Lough Key, County Roscommon, about nineteen metres across and half a metre above the water. It sits near two crannogs, and together the three places have been called the Hag's Leaps, a name that suggests they once belonged to a story about a great supernatural stride. Whether people ever lived there or only imagined a hag leaping from one wet stone to another, the island still belongs to that old legend.
