Druids Circle is a court tomb at Ros Dumhach on the Erris peninsula, built thousands of years before the romantic druid label reached the stones. The name is a nineteenth-century invention, a clever mistake that shows how much later people wanted mystery when the truth was simply that the dead had already claimed the land. The chamber still stands in state care, holding its shape against wind and forgetting while the peninsula keeps doing what peninsulas do, pulling the world inward and refusing to explain itself.
