What is recorded here
Carrowreagh holds one cupmark on a lower outcrop, seven metres south of the main panel and beside an old wall. That much is clear. The interesting part is absence: one small mark instead of a crowded surface, as if a person marked a boundary, a memory or a joke rather than displaying skill. Donegal rock art often works like that, saving the largest claim for the last place it touches.
Described by Van Hoek as 'Some 7m S of DON 3 (DG003-012----), on a lower level and near the same low old wall, is an outcrop with one cupmark' (Van Hoek 1988, 45).
