Road

This stretch of stone trackway is exposed in a drain, which links two peat-cuttings, approximately 15m ESE of KE087-074----. Occurring at a depth of 1m, the somewhat disturbed trackway appears to consist of a single layer of stone slabs measuring 1.2m wide and running approximately E-W. Phragmites peat from the same level as the trackway yielded a radiocarbon date of 2920±80 BP (Mitchell 1989, 64-65). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
