Road

The site (L 4.8m; D 0.35m) is orientated NW-SE and consists of light brushwood with occasional twigs and a roundwood. The site appears to have been truncated along its length by the drain with partial remains identified in the opposing drain face. The site is more substantial at its NW end where it is up to six pieces deep. The brushwood is laid irregularly through the site. Metal-cut chisel and wedge points are both frequent. Of the wood species identified, willow and oak dominate in approximately equal quantities, followed by alder, hazel, birch and Pomoideae. The site is situated in well-humified woody, Sphagnum peat.
