What is recorded here

Poppintree still hides its sacred oak somewhere in County Dublin, denied even to memory. Adams named it in 1881, but no stone, scar or shadow marks the place where people once tied ribbons or pressed foreheads to bark. The tree may have fallen, been chopped for firewood or simply vanished from human awareness. Yet Poppintree keeps its name, refusing to release the ritual it swallowed.
