Indicated is a small earthen enclosure beside Lough Corry in County Leitrim, still called a fort though no entrance or ditch remains visible. The oval bank measures about twenty by fifteen metres and has watched the Shannon water for generations. People may have gathered there to trade, pray or simply avoid the rain, while the lake kept their names safe in its own memory.

Situated in a low-lying position with a shore of Lough Corry on the River Shannon c. 60m to the SE. This is depicted as a small triangular field on the 1835 edition of the OS 6-inch map and on the 1945 revision. It is an overgrown oval area (int. dims c. 20m N-S; c. 15m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.6m; H 0.25m). It has no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance but it is known locally as a ‘fort’ The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
