What is recorded here

No visible trace remains of the large circular enclosure marked on the 1842 map, yet it probably stood as a lived boundary rather than a vacant dot. If the two nearby sites joined by a narrow track, people may have walked between homes, fields or shelters under changing skies. The earth took the shape back, but the drawing preserved the fact that Rathmorrel once held a complete ring.

Marked on the 1842 OS map as a large circular enclosure, it lies SE of KE014-039----. These two sites would appear to have been connected by a bohareen. However, this site does not appear on the 1916 map and no surface trace survives today. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
