Church in Kilcooly North

This possible church site is situated in a low flat plain, and though very little remains of the site a roughly rectangular space can be identified. It measures 29m x 25m externally and had a low, wide bank about 6m in width. Extending out from the S wall is a barely discernible bank that curves towards the E. At a distance of 2m from the E wall is a small mound, measuring 4m x 5m. In the SE corner there is a slight gap measuring c 4m. According to the landowner (Mr O'Connor), this field is known as the 'Church Field'. Several skeletons were dug up as were some large stones, which were later used in the nearby fieldbank.
