One chamber is built, one chamber is lost. The chamber of Eochu has vanished, perhaps swallowed by time or hidden beneath turf. The chamber of Aodh still stands, waiting for the man who will remember it.

These impressive ecclesiastical remains lie on the E slopes of Carrickgollogan. The church (DU026-050001-) is dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel (O'Brien 1988, 519). The remains are enclosed by a cashel-like structure (diam. c. 130m) which in places is built on a bank. This is visible at the entrance in the NE . Compiled by: Geraldine Stout and Padraig Clancy. Early Christian ecclesiastical site, likely 7th–10th century. Associated with St. Michael the Archangel, it reflects the spread of Christianity in the region and the use of cashel-like structures for protection.
