What is recorded here

A 30-metre earthen ringfort stood on a south-facing slope in Rathcobane, visible on maps until ploughs and progress erased it. It may have housed families, stored grain or marked a boundary, but the soil swallowed those facts. What remains is a absent circle, a fort that exists only in the memory of the land and the people who stopped seeing it.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Shown on 1904 and 1936 eds of OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). Levelled; no visible surface trace.
