Structure

An irregular spread (L 1.2m min.; Wth 0.9m min.; D 0.08m min.) of three roundwoods, brushwood and some woodchips on the field surface. Two worked pieces are present within this material. Wood species include ash, hazel, oak and Pomoideae. The site is located in well-humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
