Structure

An irregular arrangement of three overlapping pieces of heavy brushwood on the field surface (L 4.36m; Wth 1.45m; D 0.06m). A roundwood is also located 3.43m to the W. The main deposit of material is present within poorly-moderately humified Sphagnum peat containing abundant ericaceous roots and some Eriophorum. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
