Enclosure in Oldcastle is a vanished 12 ft. by 12 ft. structure beside a motte and bailey in County Galway. Orpen saw a ring and faint traces in 1916, but the enclosure has surrendered its shape to grass, rain and forgetting. It may have stored grain, locked a gate or sheltered a person during a storm. That small chamber is gone, yet it once divided inside from outside and gave the castle one more room for life.

Associated with a motte and bailey (GA096-144----). Orpen (1916, 39) recorded that 'In the N.W. angle of the bailey, a ring seems to mark the site of a tower, or small circular building [GA096-14001-], while there are traces of an enclosure [GA096-144002-], 12 ft. by 12 ft.
