What is recorded here
Rathcrandhun is a fairy fort in County Kildare, Ireland. Its bank and broad ditch still trace a circle seventy metres wide across the slight rise, with an entrance facing east. A saddle quern lies nearby, hinting that people once ground grain beside the boundary before surrendering the field to legend.
Aerial photograph (CUCAP AYL 81) shows cropmark of bank and broad, well-marked fosse defining approximately circular area (est max diam. c. 70m), with probable entrance at E. Small portion of bank and fosse visible at NE. Saddle quern found on site (NMI). Situated on slight rise.
