What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular earthen enclosure in County Galway, overlooking Corranroo Bay. Its interior now holds a vegetable garden, turning an ancient boundary into a living kitchen. The bank still marks the shape, but the field wall and grass have softened its edges. What was defended or declared may have become food, memory and daily use.
In level grassland, overlooking Corranroo Bay to the W. This poorly preserved and overgrown circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) is defined by a bank overlain by a later field wall. On inspection the interior was being used as a vegetable garden. Possibly a rath. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 18 April 2019
