Fagan tomb, probably sixteenth-century, stands in County Louth with a rectangular end panel bearing the heraldic symbols of Fagan. Above the shield rise a helmet, crest and bust of a man holding a spray, while M and F are incised below. The stones still carry the shape of a life remembered through brass and marble, not forgetfulness.
