What is recorded here

Monasteroris still hides a standing stone though no one remembers where. The stone may mark a lost road, a buried chamber or a boundary drawn before human life. It is not lost because it is small, but because memory withdrew. What is forgotten there is not nothing. It is a life that stopped being repeated.

Unlocated standing stone within the townland of Monasteroris that is mentioned in a report commissioned by the Offaly Historical and Archaeological Society entitled 'Offaly Heritage at Risk' (OHAS file 1978, 18).
