Monanaleen holds two forgotten enclosures on a Clare pasture rise, the larger measuring nearly thirty metres across. Maps drawn in 1842 and 1920 marked their circular bounds, yet no wall, ditch or earthwork remained visible when inspected decades later. The land may have swallowed them through farming, water or time, but the drawings preserve what the grass erased.

On a rise in undulating improved pasture. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (est. diam. c. 29m), probably a ringfort. No surface traces were visible when inspected in 1998. A second possible enclosure (CL017-025----) site lies c. 110m to the NNW.
