Cliff-edge fort in Mohernagh stands on a sheer cliff above the Abhainn River, using an eight-metre drop as much of its defence as the thin earthen bank. The circular space measures thirty-three metres north-south and thirty-one metres east-west, with a two-metre gap in the southeast where someone may have entered or watched the water below. Grass and bushes have taken back the bank, but the cliff still marks the boundary between the fort and the river valley.

In undulating pasture, on top of a sheer-sided cliff which rises from the E bank of the Abhainn River. A roughly circular area (33.2m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed NW->S by an earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.25m), and defined S->NW by the cliff edge (H c. 8m). There is a gap (Wth 2m) in the bank to SE. The bank is partially overgrown with bushes, and the level interior is under high grass. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
