Indicated

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a vanished ringfort in County Longford, visible only on a 1960s aerial photograph as a circular shadow in level pasture. The ground itself has erased the wall, leaving behind a shape that can be seen from above but not touched. What remains is a ghost of architecture, recorded in light and silence rather than stone.
In relatively level pasture. This monument appears as a circular enclosure defined by a collapsed wall of drystone masonry on an aerial photograph, which was taken in the 1960s (CUCAP, ALV 2). Not visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 17 January 2012

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
