What is recorded here

No visible stone remains in Moanbaun because the woodland that hid it was cleared for a factory. The lost marker probably stood barely waist-high, weather-beaten and aligned NNW-SSE, small enough to be moved once people stopped fearing what the woods might contain. Forgetting it is not the same as losing it; the place simply stopped keeping its secret.

Cody (1989, 164-5) recorded a ‘weather-beaten’ standing stone (H 0.85m; base Wth 0.7m; T 0.55m) in woodland; it was roughly subrectangular in plan and aligned NNW-SSE. No visible surface trace survives. it was probably removed during the subsequent clearing of the woodland; a factory now occupies the site.
