What is recorded here

On a prominent hillock in undulating pastureland. This large subcircular enclosure (112m N-S; 100m E-W) is defined by a drystone wall, best preserved fromN to ENE. A modern field wall overlies the enclosing element from ENE to ESE; from ESE to SSE no visible surface trace of it survives. Cody (1989, 171-3, no. 30) noted an entrance gap (Wth 9.5m) at W, where the wall kinks inwards. This area is now obscured by overgrowth. The interior is crossed by several modern field walls, one of which overlies an internal division in the E half of the monument. According to Knox (1918b, 110-12, no. 10), numerous human bones were found within the interior by local farmers. A Man-made underground passage (GA084-009001-) lies c. 20m to the S.
