What is recorded here

Indicated is a 37m circular rath in County Galway, Ireland, defined by an earthen bank planted with trees and a possible 3m SE gap. It sits 50m SW of another rath, suggesting a small cluster of fortified or ritual places rather than a lonely outlier. The name sounds like a pointer, as if the site marked something people still needed to find.
Some 50m to the SW of a rath (GA084-011----). This circular rath (diam. c. 37m), in fair condition, is defined by an earthen bank planted with a number of trees. A gap (Wth 3m) at SE may be original. (Knox 1918, 106-8, no. 7; Cody 1989). Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 11 February 2019
