Cast-iron water hydrant, erected c.1870, with fluted shaft and banded cap with acorn finial with plain spout. Set at an intersection along roadside.
Detail of the casting, in particular the acorn finial, adds artistic interest to this functional object making a valuable contribution to Minane Bridge. Water pumps are a reminder of the importance of communal water sources in the nineteenth century.
