Eight centuries of baptismal water may have touched the octagonal stone before it left Rodanstown church. The basin still holds its shape, narrow enough for one child, wide enough for every hand that poured over it. Milltown House gives the font a new address but cannot erase the villages, fevers and weddings that filled it.

The font from the church at Rodanstown (ME049-021----) is now at Milltown House. It is octagonal (ext. dim. c. 0.6m; H 0.47m) with a circular basin (diam. 0.46m; D 0.15m) and stands on an octagonal shaft (H 0.17m) with a roll moulding at the top that widens towards the base. The font, originally from the church at Rodanstown, dates to the early medieval period, likely 12th to 13th century, and exhibits a Romanesque style with octagonal form and carved details. It was relocated to Milltown House and remains significant as a rare surviving example of early Christian baptismal architecture in the region.
