Burial in Millockstown

Burial

What is recorded here

Millockstown holds a buried chamber behind its stone facing, waiting for someone brave enough to open it. The ringfort keeps its own counsel, presenting solid wall instead of admission. What lies beneath may be a person, a gift or a warning. The stones do not explain themselves. They test whether you see death as loss or transformation.
MacIvor (CLAJ 1952, 253) noted the finding of bones behind a facing of stone on the SW side of ringfort (LH017-052001-) in the 1920's. Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 21 June 2012

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
