Bushfield Fort

Thirty-seven metres of layered earth hide inside an ordinary Meath field, yet the deep north-west ditch and sloping interior reveal a deliberate early medieval ringfort rather than a random hill. The open south-east entrance faces the falling ground, inviting entry while the heavier banks watch the approach from above. People may have moved herds through that gap or watched shadows lengthen across the platform, but the turf still holds the shape of their choices.
