Swinford Famine Plot is a cemetery in County Mayo, Ireland. Perhaps the famine starved so many that ordinary burial ground failed, and this separate plot exists because death came in a larger wave than the town expected. Maybe the graves hold people whose names never reached a register, only the hunger and the rain. Imagine walking past rows of unmarked soil where an entire neighbourhood stopped speaking at once.
