Deel Castle stands ruined beside the River Deel, a sixteen-century Bourke tower later renamed Castle Gore after James II's defeat. The Gore family took the forfeited land, built a grand house beside it in 1791, and held it until fire consumed the newer structure in 1922. The old tower survived that flames but has since collapsed into shadows, leaving only stones to remember the river's name and the men who fought over it.
