According to Bowman (1934, 423), in a field known as 'the altar field...is a glacial boulder on which, it is said, Mass was offered up in the Penal Days'. Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
