Lacka East holds a collapsed underground chamber inside a circular rath, its passage still stretching eighteen metres toward a gap in the earthen bank. The chamber lies buried beneath a shallow depression, while the narrow passage cuts southeast through the field like a forgotten invitation. Whoever dug it believed the ground could be opened, shaped and entered again. That belief remains visible in the bank, the gap and the long buried line leading out of the circle.

Situated in the corner of a field, a small stream runs W. This circular univallate rath KE005-036---- consists of a circular area enclosed by an earthen bank, though to the E stone facing is evident. The interior is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land and contains the collapsed remains of a Man-made underground passage chamber (KE005-036001) and passage. The collapsed chamber is indicated by a depression 8m x 6m externally. Extending out from this depression in a SE direction is the possible passage, extending towards a 3m wide gap in the bank. The passage is 18m long x c 4m wide x .5m deep. Another gap exists in the bank to the S and is c3m wide. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
