Under the pasture on a steep northwest-facing slope in Greenanes, people have long believed a man-made passage cuts through the hill. No entrance, tunnel or broken stone has ever shown itself, leaving the claim suspended between memory and invention. That absence is the striking part: a whole region may have imagined a doorway the earth never gave up.
