See site inspection report (diary CM18, 51-2, SMR file). According to this field report, there is no surface trace of a Man-made underground passage at this location or in the surrounding area. This area has been reclaimed and many field fences marked on the OS 6-inch maps have been removed. 'Cave' is handwritten at this location on Capt. D. B. O'Connell's map in the Archaeology Dept, UCC (photocopy in SMR file). There are no further details of the cave which may have been natural or a possible Man-made underground passage.
