Carrowbaun, County Mayo: a shallow hollow, two and a half metres long, with a lintel-like slab tilted out of its south-east end, still pointing the way down. Whatever breathed beneath it has stopped answering, but the tilt remains, patient as a door left open for someone who forgot the stairs.

In the SE quadrant of rath (MA071-055----). A lintel-like slab protrudes obliquely from the SE end of a shallow surface hollow (2.4m NW–SE; 0.8m NE−SW, 2m at SE). These features may be indicative of a Man-made underground passage. Compiled by: Jane O’Shaughnessy Date of upload: 30 July 2021
