Man-made underground passage in Barrees

In a coniferous forest, on a NW-facing slope overlooking Barrees valley. The Man-made underground passage was discovered during the construction of a forest road. It consists of two semicircular openings, 0.8m apart, on the W side of the road at the base of a N-S earthen bank (H 2m). The S opening (Wth 1m; H 0.3m), which is the smaller of the two, reveals the top of a largely collapsed earth-cut chamber. The N opening (Wth 2m; H 0.85m) reveals the earth-cut arched roof of a chamber extending 2m to the W and then narrowing as it slopes down to the S.
