What is recorded here

A circular stone hut site (diam. 3.4m) defined by a single line of stones. Another similar hut site (CO102-030005-) is 1.5m to N. Subsequent to being published in the Archaeological Inventory of co. Cork vol. 1 this hut site was excavated and was radiocarbon dated to 1380±40BP (GrN-28303), consistent with a 6th-8th century AD date range for a multi-coloures glass bead which was found in the hut (O'Brien 2006, 39). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
