Detached three-bay two-storey former coastguard house, built c.1840, having central gabled porch to front (west). Now in use as private house. Lower three-bay two-storey outbuilding attached to north gable. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron and uPVC rainwater goods. Painted rendered walls. Square-headed openings with two-over-two timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening with recent timber battened door. Outbuilding comprising pitched slate roof, painted rendered and rubble stone walls, square-headed openings with single and double timber fixed pane windows and timber battened door. Site enclosed by painted rendered walls and piers.

Originally forming part of a larger coastguard station complex that included the pier to the west, this attractive building, despite some alterations, retains much of its original character. The attached outbuilding is an interesting and integral part of the site. Its original use as a coastguard station attests to the importance of maritime activities in the locality.
