What is recorded here
Beneath the Ballygowan rath, a hidden passage waits in darkness. People walked it before memory faded, perhaps to trade secrets or escape storms. Cows kept falling in, so the entrance was blocked. The hole is gone, but the passage remains, patient and unknown.
According to local information, there is a Man-made underground passage in the interior of the rath (GA125-018----), possibly the SW quadrant. Its entrance was blocked up as it posed a danger to livestock.
