Man-made underground passage in Baile Uí Bhuinn

On a gentle SE facing slope, overlooking Brandon Bay 300m to W, a heavily overgrown mound of stone, 3.5 x 4m x c. 1.2m high, overlies a Man-made underground passage passage, 2.5m long E-W and completely blocked by collapse at either end. Though inaccessible, a low gap beneath the W roof slab provides a view of the drystone-built passage which is 1m wide and up to .5m high above the debris covering the floor; its flagged roof lies .25m above the present level of the surrounding land. 1.5m from the W end the roof is lowered by c. 0.2m, but it is not known whether this is merely a constriction of the passage or whether it marks the entrance to a 2nd passage or chamber.
